Before Wednesday evenings two first games the tournament had its Opening Ceremony as the men’s got their last Sunday. Speaches, ice dancing and the players oath was included.
Attila Adamfi, General Secretary of FIB together with Minna Heikkilä, Director of Communications in Pori and Carla Björndahl, Vice President of the Finnish Bandy Federation.
Rebecca Draper, player in the Team USA and Chair for FIB Athletes Committee gave the players oath.
Ice dance was also included in the ceremony before the first game Sweden-Finland.
The two first games in the women’s tournament gave victories for Sweden and Norway. Sweden won a quite safe first game in the tournament when the team beat Finland 8-0. After that Norway made a victory when the team met USA, 4-1.
