During the visit, FIB delegates presented the FIB 70th anniversary medal to Mr. Lauri Kilkku, Deputy Mayor of Pori to express the gratitude for the city of Pori for their valuable support to make this even unforgettable.
During the short visit, representatives also formally signed the Hosting Agreement outlining all the details of the FIB’s flagship event.
Attila Adamfi, FIB General Secretary stated:
-I am absolutely satisfied with the technical visit, it is great to experience the excellent preparations by these enthusiastic people.
This World Championships will be full of history. The very first men World Championships (1957) was hosted in Helsinki, Finland and the very first women World Championships (2004) was also organised in Finland, in Lappeenranta. Next year, the FIB World Championships returns where its rich history started!
Furthermore for me personally Finland will have always a special place in my heart: in 1991 as a young boy I participated at my very first World Championships in Helsinki and in 2026, 35 years later I return to Finland again for the Bandy World Championships!

Antti Parviainen, Mr. Lauri Kilkku, Deputy Mayor of Pori and Attila Adamfi.
