SPANKY’S SUMMER WINNER IN USA AND A 3,9 MILLION IMPROVEMENT ON JOHN ROSE OVAL!
SPANKY BANDY CLUB WINNER OF CANNON CUP!
The Cannon Cup in Rinkbandy was decided on Wednesday 13 August at Eden Prairie Arena. Spanky’s Bandy Club was undefieted and beat Tonka Bay Bombers in the final. In another amazing display of speed, skill and talent, both teams made it to a big final. Finally Spanky won 10-5 after a classic on ice battle and Spanky’s capping off a rare undefeated 13-0 season. The game was close in the first half as neither team could pull away.
But the second half was all Spanky’s as their speedy forwards led by veterans Sammy Walker and Kyle Osterberg, put relentless pressure on the Bomber defense. This heavy pressure resulted in several quick goals that allowed them to pull away on the scoreboard. Once they had a three goal lead, Joe Molenaar anchored a stingy Spanky’s defense that put a protective shell around keeper Gavin Enright. The Bombers power forwards Joe Rehkamp, Mike Lickteig, Archie Skalbeck and Liam Malmquist constantly drove the net, but could not get clear shots as many were directly blocked by Molenaar.
Chris Halden, the Bomber veteran, scored in his last game in his 40 year long summer bandy career that started back in June, 1985.
For his superb defensive efforts throughout the playoffs, Spanky’s Joe Molenaar was named 2025’ Most Valuable Player.

3,9 MILLION DOLLAR IMPROVEMENT ON JOHN ROSE OVAL ARENA!
FIB have reached great news for the US Bandy. The City of Roseville has just approved a 3.9 million dollar improvement project to the John Rose Oval, the home of USA Bandy. The much needed improvements include replacing aging major infrastructure including the refrigeration system, drainage system and pumping system. These improvements will allow the John Rose Oval to continue to operate for many years to come.
The US Bandy gives of course many thanks to the City of Roseville, the State of Minnesota and numerous individuals working for making this happen!
