FIB held this year’s annual congress in conjunction with the World Championships in Lidköping, Sweden. The congress brought together 15 member federations, some of which participated online.
STATUTES AMENDMENT
The congress included a number of regular items on the agenda. One of the most important decisions was the FIB Statutes Amendment. An important change to the statutes and concerns moving from the fact that only member associations that are physically present at the congress can exercise their right to vote. This has meant that member associations that can only participate online have not had any right to vote. This change of statutes makes it easier for member associations to use their vote even when it may be difficult to be physically present. At the same time, the statutes are being modernized to be more in line with the times where online presence is equated with physical presence.

FIB 70 YEARS – 1955-2025
The Federation of International Bandy was born on February 12, 1955, but under the name International Bandy Federation. That was later changed to FIB. Four national bandy federations gathered in Stockholm at that time, 70 years ago – the federations of Finland, Norway, Russia and Sweden. On hand at the FIB Congress in Lidköping was Ingrid Hedin Amrén who represented one of the founding federations from 1955 and as a memory gift she got the FIB 70 medal.
