On Sunday afternoon, the 2025 FIB World Championships Men and Women were inaugurated in the host city of Lidköping. All teams that had arrived in Lidköping on Sunday afternoon participated. They joined in a march through Lidköping led by riders on horseback to the arena that will host all the matches over the next 7 days.
The Swedish Bandy Federation’s General Secretary Pär Gustafsson welcomed everyone, so did Gustav Edvinsson, Municipal Councilor in Lidköping.
FIB President Henrik Nilsson gave a speech welcoming everyone, from players to officials, referees, volunteers and all fans and it was also future-oriented that the entire bandy world has a common goal of being admitted to the pinnacle of sport, the Olympic Games.
Tomorrow the first of the tournaments starts, the men’s matches. The opening match is USA-Hungary in the afternoon at 15.30 CET and in the evening 19.00 Sweden will play against Norway.
All matches in both the men’s and women’s tournaments are broadcast live worldwide. Viewers in Sweden can watch Sweden’s matches at Bandypuls. Viewers all over the world can watch all the matches live on Bandyplay. Swedish viewers can also watch all the other matches on Bandyplay. They use Bandypuls only for the Swedish matches during the whole tournament.
