IMPRESSIVE NETHERLANDS
The Netherlands ended up as World Champion Men Group B in Serwent Arena in Uppsala, Sweden. Netherlands played through the tournament by winning all games. Impressive!
SWITZERLAND TO SEMIFINAL FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER
But there were other teams that also did very well. It should be mentioned that Switzerland won its very first match in a World Championship tournament when the team beat Slovakia in the preliminary round with 4-3. It was not only that match that became historic for the team.
Switzerland also played its very first bronze medal match ever. It was a loss against Great Britain but Switzerland has taken several steps forward when they have invested in getting many younger players to choose bandy.

THANKS TO IFK UPPSALA
The Federation of International Bandy would like to give a warm thank you to the organizer IFK Uppsala who with dedication and ambitious work created a great tournament and memories for life for all participants. FIB’s thanks are also directed to Ludvig von Polgar in IFK Uppsala who with ambitious work got all the elements of the tournament to work together.
CONVENIENT AND SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION
Having the hotel, arena and restaurant all in a walking distance, provided not only a convenient service for participants but also an example for a sustainable solution of hosting the tournament.
VOTING FOR FIB ATHLETES COMMITTEE STARTED!
The FIB also conducted the first part of the players’ vote for the new FIB Athletes Committee. A committee that will focus on engaging with the players’ wishes, suggestions and experiences that can further elevate international bandy.
The voting was conducted under review from FIB General Secretary Attila Adamfi and Istvan von Polgar from the organizer IFK Uppsala. The election will continue among the players in the World Championship in Lidköping in a week and a half.
FIB COMMEMORATE THE 70th ANNIVERSARY!
During Friday evening’s closing banquet, FIB also had the opportunity to commemorate the 70th anniversary, as FIB was formed in 1955 and has since been the unifying force for international bandy. FIB took the opportunity to show the anniversary video that will also be shown in Lidköping.
