FIB imposes a 3-year sanction on a Kazakh athlete!

The Federation of International Bandy (FIB) reports that a Kazakh athlete has accepted a 3-year period of ineligibility as a consequence of his Anti-Doping Rule Violations stemming from a sample collected out-of-competition on 22 March 2023.

The Athlete has committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRV) under article 2.1 of the FIB Anti-Doping Rules (FIB ADR) for the presence of Specified Substance Indapamide (Prohibited List S5. Diuretics and Masking Agents), and the Non-Specified Substance Meldonium (Prohibited List S4.4 Hormone and Metabolic Modulators), both substances prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Prohibited List.

The Athlete did not challenge the ADRV and agreed with the consequence proposed by FIB. The three-year suspension starts on the date of the sample collection (22 March 2023) and will end on 22 March 2026.

All Anti-Doping related sanctions are published on the FIB website under Current Sanctions.Â
