The IOC explores participation for athletes from Russia and Belarus!

FIB has received the statement of the IOC, The International Olympic Committee, on the current situation regarding Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. FIB recognises and fully supports the strong unifying mission of the Olympic Movement. 

The IOC statement outlines to continue to explore a possible pathway for athletes from Russia and Belarus under strict conditions. 

The ongoing situation is closely monitored and FIB is in contact with the IOC to evaluate and coordinate the status of Russian and Belarusian athletes and the practical implementation of any IOC recommendation in this subject.

FIB will uphold the current protective measures in place in line with the IOC’s recommendations while this pathway is considered and would be happy to welcome Russian and Belarusian athletes back on the international bandy field as soon as the circumstances allow.
