EDSBYN AND VILLA LIDKÖPING SWEDISH CHAMPIONS!

Edsbyns IF became Swedish champions for men and Villa Lidköping BK for women. Both matches were decided outdoors at Studenternas Arena in Uppsala on Saturday, March 19.

THE WOMEN’S FINAL – VILLA LIDKÖPING BK-AIK, SOLNA 4-0 (2-0)

The women’s final was played early in the day with poor ice conditions in the warming spring sun. Villa Lidköping dominated the match from start to finish against AIK, Solna. The victory numbers were 4-0 after 2-0 at half time.

THE MEN’S FINAL – VILLA LIDKÖPING BK-EDSBYNS IF 4-5 (3-4)

The men’s final was played later on the same day and could be decided under much better conditions. The men’s final was swinging and that large audience got to see many wonderful goals. In terms of goals, it was Edsbyn which was always one step ahead in terms of goals, even though Villa were favorites as the team was a great series winner. Edsbyn won by 5-4 after 4-3 at half time.
