VÄSTERÅS SK WON WORLD CUP CLUB TEAMS WOMEN 17 AGAIN!
Last season Västerås SK won the World Cup Club teams by a huge win in the final against Surte/Kareby 13-1. This years final was far more tough when Västerås met Villa Lidköping. After 1-1 at half time, Västerås scored the only goal at second half. Silja Carlsson was the final hero by scoring 1-2 in the middle of second half.
It was an exciting World Cup tournament that gave the people in the stands in Mölndal and Gothenburg and viewers in front of the webcasts on the live platforms FIB TV and Bandyplay several dramatic games. The bronze game between Skirö AIK and IFK Vänersborg was for example decided by a Golden Goal for Skirö.
The tournament was played in 2 different Swedish indoor arenas, Åby Ice Stadium in Mölndal and Ruddalen Ice Hall in Gothenburg. Games were played at the same time in both arenas thru the tournament and the arenas are situated only 15 minutes from each other.
