SWEDEN WORLD CHAMPION MEN 19!
The World Championship final in Men 19’s tournament developed in a completely different way than expected. All on site in Uppsala said it will be an even and exciting final between Sweden and Norway. But the final developed in a completely different way. It was even during the first half. Then it was a one team show. Sweden was too far ahead in the second half. The final ended 12-2 after 4-2 at half time.
The World Championship Men 19 was the only tournament this weekend that was decided before the last game in the preliminary round. Sweden ended on 7 points, Norway on 5 points and Finland 0 points.
The 3 tournaments are WCS Men 19, Men 17 and Women 17. Host was the Swedish Bandy Federation and Uppsala BoIS was the local organizer for these tournaments in Serwenthallen Indoor Arena, Uppsala.
The players awards was given to only Swedish players in the final, from left ALWIN ANDERSSON – MOST VALUABLE PLAYER AND BEST MIDFIELDER, ALFONS ALTERSVED – BEST GOAL SCORER, THEO BENKELIUS – BEST GOAL KEEPER, HUGO JONSSON – BEST FORWARD and ELIAS LINDBERG – BEST DEFENDER. The price givers from the left Pierre Roos, Daniel Andersson and Claes Thunblad, all the Swedish Bandy Federation.

THE TOURNAMENT LAST YEAR
Sweden won the final against Finland 6-2 and Norway won the bronze medals after a victory against Hungary.
