2011 FIB WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MEN
Kazan, Russia, 23-30 January
This years World Championship was held in Kazan, Russia. Finland, Sweden, Russia, Kazakhstan, Norway and USA played a single series in Group A, with the top four qualifying for the semi finals.
Group B includes Belarus, Canada, Netherlands, Hungary and Latvia. The last team of Group A will play the winner of Group B in a qualifying game for the next years Group A.
Russia lost to Finland for the first time at home, and as a result, Russia and Sweden already met in the semi final. Russia became champion after defeating Sweden in the semi final and Finland in the final.
