The stage is set for high drama during Sunday’s decisive matches at the World Cup for Club Teams Women 17! Many questions remain regarding which teams will meet in the afternoon playoffs. Only one team has already secured a spot in the final…
SKIRÖ AIK!
Tomorrow’s results will have no impact on them, so they can afford to take it easy in their final match against IFK Vänersborg. Should Skirö, against the odds, lose that game, and Villa Lidköping win their own match, both teams would finish on 7 of points. In that scenario, Vida Skoglund becomes Skirö’s hero! It was she who scored the decisive penalty after the head-to-head encounter between the two teams yesterday, Friday. That successful penalty secures Skirö’s place in the final, as it serves as the tie-breaker, taking precedence over goal difference. Congratulations, Skirö AIK!
It is almost certain that Västerås SK will be Skirö’s opponent in the final. VSK only needs to secure one point against the Norwegian team Ready/Sarpsborg. A task they should be able to manage.

This World Cup is held in the two indoor arenas, Åby Ice Stadium in Mölndal and Ruddalen Ice Hall in Gothenburg.
