The FIB Anti-Doping Committee (ADC) recently held its latest online meeting, focusing on the ongoing development of the federation’s anti-doping programme and preparations for the upcoming season.
2026 KEY PRIORITY ON NEW ANTI-DOPING CODE
A key priority for the ADC in 2026 is the implementation of the new World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code, which will enter into force on 1 January 2027. As part of this process, the committee is working on reviewing and updating the FIB Anti-Doping Regulations (ADR) to ensure full compliance with the revised international framework. During the meeting, ADC Chair Hakan Nyberg presented the main focus areas of the upcoming WADA regulatory changes.
TESTING STATISTICS FROM FIRST QUARTER OF 2026
Alongside the regulatory work, the ADC also reviewed the testing statistics from the first quarter of 2026 and assessed the implementation of the current Testing Distribution Plan (TDP). With the 2025–26 season now concluded, the committee has begun evaluating the experiences and anti-doping activities of the season, while also taking into account key changes – such as the fact that no Group A World Championship will be held in 2027 – in order to prepare the Risk Assessment and Testing Distribution Plan for
2026–27.

The ADC remains committed to maintaining a strong, transparent, and internationally aligned anti-doping programme to protect the integrity of sport and ensure clean competition across all FIB.
