WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GROUP B – A REAL SUCCESS!

The FIB World Championships Group B in Uppsala last weekend turned into a really exciting event for participants, organizer and visiting spectators and fans for the various teams.

Netherlands won the women’s tournament and Great Britain among the male teams.
Two reasons for this success is probably because FIB arranged the World Championship for Group B at the same time on the same venue as last year and the fact that the women’s teams gave the tournament a new quality. The women’s Group B tournament has not been arranged since a long time. Now 4 teams participated; Netherlands, Great Britain, Switzerland and Germany.
The FIB President Henrik Nilsson was the one that was lucky to inaugurate everything on Thursday, 17 March.

TWO WELL WORTH WINNERS!

Winner of the women’s tournament was Netherlands, the favourite team in advance. The team beat Great Britain in the final, 5-3. The Netherland team were outstanding the whole tournament. How about these results from the preliminary round: Great Britain 10-2, Germany 7-0 and Switzerland 9-1.

The celebrating Netherland team!

If Great Britain lost in the women’s final, they did not in the men’s tournament. These are the preliminary round results for the English team: Switzerland 4-3, Czechia 4-3, Germany 5-3 and Ukraine 4-2. And in the final against Germany, there was a goal explosion from Great Britain, 12-2!
