Federation of International Bandy (FIB) decided recently to develop the FIB Strategic Plan 2034, to provide a clear roadmap to guide its growth, development, and success.
As the first step a Working Group was established to elaborate and coordinate the project and the following members were appointed:
- Attila Adamfi, General Secretary
- Hans-Elis Johansson, Chair, Olympic Task Force
- Tobias Karlsson, Finland
- Frank Peters, Netherlands
- Gian Luca Beeler, Athlete Representative
The inclusive composition of the Working Group was ensured by members appointed from both World Championships A + B group and Athlete Committee.
At the first meeting, attended by Henrik Nilsson, FIB President and Rebecca Draper, Athlete Committee Chair, the Working Group discussed and agreed on the Framework of the Strategic Plan, including major phases and timelines.
As part of the initial phase, the Working Group prepared a SWOT analyses and initiated a data collection among the Member Associations to elaborate the current status of FIB and the sport of bandy.
In order to ensure the widest engagement within the bandy Family, the transparent approach includes a wide consultation with internal and external stakeholders – media, sport equipment producers, fans – even during the elaboration of the Strategic Plan, to be presented at the FIB Congress in 2025.
Attila Adamfi, FIB General Secretary said: “This work for the Strategic Plan provides a roadmap for the Federation of International Bandy to grow the sport on a global scale, expand its fan base, and achieve recognition at the highest levels of international competition. By setting both short- and long-term goals, FIB can move strategically towards a brighter future where bandy is more widely recognized in the Olympic Movement and supported worldwide.”
