2007 FIB WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WOMEN
Budapest, Hungary, 11-17 February

The 2007 Women’s World Championship was the third Championship. All matches were played 2 x 30 minutes, except the final which was played 2 x 45 minutes. Sweden won gold again, for the third time. Russia was second and Norway third. Hungary made its debut in the tournament. Sweden won the final against Russia 3-2 after an extremely dramatic and exciting match.
This was the first time a Championship was played already the year after the previous Championship.
This was a big success for the bandy in Canada. The team won for the first time against Finland, played a draw against Norway and played a semifinal for the first time. No team from the North American continent had won or played a draw against Sweden, Finland, Norway or Russia. USA played a draw against Sweden in the group stage.
