FLYING SPARROWS ON TOP IN SUMMER RINK BANDY!

Did you think the bandy business is in a “Time Out” for the summer? Noway!
At least not in the US.

At the halfway point of the summer rink bandy season, kudos to all the teams for continuing to play exciting, high level games each and every week. After 5 games, the Flying Sparrows are currently sitting on top of the USRBL (US Rink Bandy League) with a perfect 5-0 record. They kept their winning streak alive after an intense 11-9 win last week over a very tough Sirius squad. The Sparrows look like they can definitely make a run for the iconic Cannon Cup. But maybe the Flying Sparrows will be facing some tough competition.
After a slow start, the Tonka Bay Bombers are on a tear, piling up 41 goals in the last three games. The Bomber speedster Joe Rehkamp led the scoring parade with 16 goals in those three games and might be having his best season ever.
Spanky’s and Sirius have both reloaded with several highly skilled young guns from the college hockey ranks and have gotten stellar goalkeeping from Gavin Enright (Spanky’s) and Zack Wynne (Sirius) which has put both teams back in strong contention. The return of Sammy Walker will really help Spanky’s chances of defending the Cup.
And given the speed, veteran leadership and superb goaltending of the Diamond Lakers, Grey Ducks, Mojo and Tsunami, anything can happen in the wild USRBL.
