PÄR BILLSMON JOINS THE FIB RRC-COMMITTEE

The FIB Rules and Referees Committee has secured a new strong member when Pär “Bille” Billsmon from Bollnäs in Sweden joins the committee. Pär played bandy himself until he turned 18, then he felt that the competition was too tough to invest further.

-I then had an uncle and some friends who refereed bandy, so I chose to jump on it, and I don’t regret it for a second. What experiences and friends for life you got thanks to it. I became an Allsvenskan referee and have made one elite match. There was a referee who was injured in the warm-up and I, as the 4th referee, had to jump in.

-I am incredibly passionate about bandy, not just the referees but the whole sport. It is by far the coolest sport out there. But of course it is the referees who are closest to my heart.

-In RRC, I want to help develop referees both at the top and on the width, both women and men. The sport is moving really fast now, so it’s important that we also keep up. Maybe also review some rules like we did in Sweden. For me, it is very important that the international bandy continues to play even if the situation is as it is right now. We have to develop ourselves too, we who develop the referees. It is important and must definitely not be forgotten. So it will be a very exciting year with FIB RRC.
