RUSSIA WORLD CHAMPION – FINAL VICTORY AGAINST SWEDEN 2-1


Russia is World Champion for Men 19 once again. In the final of the tournament in Krasnoyarsk, Sunday, January 27 the Russian team beat Sweden 2-1. It is Russias 12th gold medal for Men 19, and the 3rd in a row. Russia won 2017, 2018 and 2019. Sweden has won the Championship 16 times.
In the final game in 2019 tournament, Russia had 2-0 in half time. Sweden reduced to 2-1 in second half but didn’t come any closer.
We also have to note that Sweden missed three penalty shots during the game, or rather, the Russian goalkeeper saved all of the penaltie strokes. Therefore, it must be a difficult loss for Sweden.

WORLD CHAMPION MEN 19 HAS BEEN APPOINTED 27 TIMES SINCE 1968!

World Championships for this age group have been designated since 1968. All titles have been won by Sweden or Russia (the Soviet Union up to 1990). Sweden has won the World Championship 16 times, the last 2016. Sweden was also the first World Champion in Finland in 1968. Russia has won 12 times and is now reigning World Champion.

1968, 1972, 1974, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1984, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2016.
Russia World Champion 12 times:
1970, 1976, 1986, 1994, 1998, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
