2006 WORLD CUP CLUB TEAMS WOMEN

Edsbyn, Sweden, 27-29 October

This Women’s Bandy World Cup was the fourth edition of the tournament played in Edsbyn indoor arena, Sweden. Winner was Sandvikens AIK, Sweden, who in the final defeated IFK Nässjö, Sweden, 2-1 . It was Sandviken’s second straight win in the tournament.

Sandviken won all three games in the Round Robin, Tranås 16-1, Ready from Norway 12-1 and 4-0 against Record from Russia. In the semi final, Sandviken beat Edsbyns IF 4-1.

Nässjö’s way to the final was a win against Ready 10-0, a draw against  Record 4-4 and another win against Tranås 5-1. In the semi final Nässjö beat Västerstrand after a penalty shootout, as the game ended 1-1.

The game for bronze medal was played between Västerstrand and Edsbyn. It was a 1-1 draw but Västerstrand won after the decisive  penalty shootout.
