Ljusdal, Sweden
Lars “Knatten” Olsson, Sandvikens AIK, broke a new record in the first game 1980 against Västerås SK. The game was only 24 seconds old when he struck from his favorite position. With a right shot from a mini-vale right angle, he made it 1-0 and it was not only the fastest goal of the tournament, but also the fastest goal in the history of World Cup. It wasn’t finished with that. In the game that went to a penalty shootout, he scored 5 of Sandviken’s 6 goals.
