Sweden defended the World Championship Y17 Girls 2022! Sweden won 3 out of 4 matches in the Round Robin. In the final Sweden beat Norway 7-1. The tournament was held in Sparbanken Lidköping Arena in Sweden, March 11-13.

The city of Lidköping is south of the south eastern part of Lake Vänern called Kinneviken. The city is divided into two parts by the river Lidan. The east side is called the old city and the west side the new city. In the new town square stands the statue of Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie. Lidköping received its first known city privileges on June 17, 1446, by Sweden’s then king, Kristofer of Bavaria, and thus became the first city on Lake Vänern.

Lidköping is also home town of the Swedish bandy champions Villa Lidköping BK. For the first time in Swedish bandy history, the club won the championship for both women and men the last season. The women beat Västerås SK in the final with 6-3 and the men won the final against AIK, Solna with 5-4.
